Who Needs CCOF (California Certified Organic Farmers)?

As consumers are looking for more organic options, many farmers are shifting to organic farming practices .

If you’re involved in the production, handling, or processing of raw agricultural products sold as organic, you must register annually with the California State Organic Program (SOP).

The California Department of Food and Agriculture requires several conditions be met in order for food to be marketed, labeled, and sold as organic. The C.C.O.F. Certification is their “seal of approval” that states you have been verified to follow their conditions and best practices.

However, becoming C.C.O.F. certified can be a challenge for any producers who have gone through the process.
